Carson City man jailed since December booked for additional child pornography charge

A Carson City man arrested in December for alleged production of child pornography was booked Monday for an additional charge of possession of visual pornography of a child under 16, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Robbie Wayne Roberts was charged Monday following an investigation of evidence collected in a Dec. 20, 2022 warrant search of his Ridgefield Drive residence.
The search warrant was granted as part of a Carson City Sheriff's Office investigation of Roberts' internet activities involving the production of child pornographic images.
The sheriff office investigation was done in collaboration with the Roseville (California) Police Department and its investigation involving an identified juvenile victim. Roberts is currently in custody for charges stemming from that investigation.
The search warrant allowed for forensic review of computers, cell phones and other digital storage devices located in the suspect's residence. Members of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force assisted with completing forensic review of the devices seized as ordered in the search warrant, according to CCSO.
On Monday, Jan. 23, 2023 the Carson City detective investigating the crime received the digital evidence report for the digital evidence seized during execution of the search warrant.
The pornographic images and videos of the identified victim were determined to be downloaded, viewed and stored on Robbie Robert's laptop computer. In addition to the images and video files of the identified child victim stemming from the Roseville Police Department investigation, the Internet Crimes Against Children task force located approximately eight child pornographic images of other children victims estimated to be under age 12, according to the report.
One of the descriptions of the additional images was described as a nude female child approximately 7 to 10 years of age being sexually assaulted by an adult male, the report states. Due to this additional acquired evidence, Roberts was booked for an additional charge of possession of visual pornography of a child under 16 years of age. Bail amount listed for the latest charge is $40,000; Roberts, who remains in jail custody, also has a $100,000 bail amount from the December arrest.
Other arrests:
— In other arrests, a 37-year-old Carson City man, David Romney Badger Jr., listed with a Carriage Crest Drive address, was arrested Monday for two felony warrants alleging possession of visual pornography of a person under 16 years of age. The warrants were issued Jan. 19, 2023 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $20,000 cash.
