Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man booked for second domestic battery offense
A 33 year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1500 block of Firebox Road for misdemeanor second-offense domestic battery, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, sheriff's deputies responded to a residence in the area on report of a dispute late Friday morning at 11:32 a.m. Four individuals at the location were contacted and identified.
One male subject was observed to have open wounds on his right hand. When asked how he received those injuries, the subject stated he had hit a tree upon becoming upset with his fiancee, the report said. The subject declined medical attention, the report states.
The male subject reported that he and his fiancee had gotten into a verbal argument while out on a walk. He stated that he took her stuffed mouse from her backpack and threw it into the street. He denied the dispute ever became physical.
Deputies then spoke with the man's fiancee, who confirmed that the suspect had thrown her stuffed mouse into the street. She also reported that her fiance, the suspect, had cut his wrists with a knife.
When she took the knife away from him, the male suspect became upset, pushing her into the bathroom where she hit her stomach on the sink counter, the woman reported.
The female victim added that she was pregnant with their child and showed deputies marks left on her neck, the report said.
The male suspect was placed in handcuffs at that point and taken into custody. But he became uncooperative once placed in the patrol vehicle, pounding his head against the backseat safety window cage multiple times.
He also screamed, "If I go to jail, I'm going to kill myself."
The suspect was transported to the Carson City Jail. He continued to hit his head against the safety window cage en route to detention. He was transferred over to jail staff, the report said, still uncooperative. A criminal history was run on the suspect, whose record showed a prior domestic battery conviction in Reno. Bail: $5,000.
