Earthquakes rattle area south of Reno on Tuesday night
At least three earthquakes were reported in south Reno near Galena on Tuesday night, with the largest a magnitude of 2.8, according to the Nevada Seismological Lab.
The first quake was centered 1.5 miles east of Galena High School, registering a preliminary magnitude of 2.75 to 2.8 at 7:24 p.m. followed by a magnitude 1.8 approximately 3.6 miles north of Galena High School at 7:26 p.m. and a 1.4 at 7:55 p.m. Smaller earthquakes were reported in the same area early Tuesday morning.
