Richard Doede directs Capital City Community Band with free holiday, patriotic concert Dec. 4
Under the direction of Richard Doede, the Capital City Community Band will perform its free annual holiday and patriotic concert with a “Salute to Bob Hope,” on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 3:00 p.m., inside the Carson City Community Center's Bob Boldrick Theater, 851 E. William Street.
Bob Hope was the biggest performer – not just a comedian, but also a talented dancer and vocalist – during World War II with his “Bob Hope and the American Variety Show." He performed for groups of enlisted people from 10 to 30,000 with the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Lana Turner and Bing Crosby.
The band will perform a variety of music, including Cole Porter Classics, Nocturne of the Harp, and America the Beautiful with featured harpist Mary Law.
Additionally, this concert will include a salute to our servicemen, as well as music for the holidays, and selections in response to community requests.
Come and join the fun.
