CARSON CITY — Comedy thru the Ages, the 2020 production of the Carson Follies, is seeking actors, dancers, singers and stage personnel for its upcoming show July 10-12. Auditions will be held Thursday, March 5, and Tuesday, March 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive in Carson City.

Donny & Marie Osmond do their thing at Lake Tahoe

Donny and Marie Osmond were in Tahoe onstage at Harveys Outdoor Arena on Friday, displaying their wide range of musical styles. The siblings started performing at an early age. Donny first entered the public eye when he joined his older brothers’ singing group,”The Osmonds,” and appeared regularly on “The Andy Williams Show.” Donny and Marie both recorded solo albums before joining forces to star on the 1970s TV variety show “Donny & Marie.”

Buffalo Bill’s Wild West returns to Dangberg Historic Park on Saturday, August 26 at 11:00 am as the park’s final major event of the 2017 Dangberg Summer Festival.

The show features Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Annie Oakley, the Pony Express, The Mayfield Gang and the 1st Nevada Cavalry. The Douglas High School Marching Band and western singer-songwriter Krista Jenkins return for a second year to draw the audience back in time to the frontier of the American West.

Outdoors with Don Q: Flowers, bird and animals are her favorites subjects

By now, you know that many of the photos attached to my outdoor articles at Carson Now are those taken by my wife, Elaine. She is not a professional photographer, does not have professional photo training or professional equipment, but does possess a great natural talent for framing her photo subjects with the proper backgrounds.

Between the two of us, we have a total of three "Point and Shoot" cameras: An old Pentax Optio 750Z (The one I use), a Cannon Power Shot Sx280 HS (her favorite) and a Sony HD VCHD (her backup camera).

The Carson City Senior Citizens Center will be holding open auditions for the 16th Annual Senior Follies production on Wednesday, March 27th from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center Main Dining Room, 911 Beverly Dr., Carson City. Performance dates are Sept. 13, 14 and 15 at the Carson City Community Center’s Bob Boldrick Theater. This year’s theme is “Around the World in 80 Minutes” and is directed by Carla Wilson.

Auditions for Senior Follies

The Carson City Senior Citizens Center will be holding open auditions for the 2012 Senior Follies production of “Those Delightful Decades.” This production will be co-directed by Norma Conway and Carla Wilson.

This annual production is a fundraiser for the senior meals programs here in Carson City. If you are age 35 or older and would like to be a part of this wonderful fundraising project we would love to have you share your talents with us. It is a variety show consisting of musical and comedy acts ranging from the 1920’s through today.
