Prayer Rally Across From Carson City Planned Parenthood This Wednesday
Carson City, Nevada – The Fall 2012 40 Days for Life campaign in Carson City starts with a kickoff rally on the sidewalk across from Planned Parenthood at 1201 North Stewart Street on Wednesday, September 26 at 6 PM, as the pro-life community prepares to pray and fast for an end to abortion. The fall effort also includes a “Youth for Life” rally on Saturday, October 20 and a closing prayer ceremony on Saturday, November 3, both also across from Planned Parenthood.
Members of various Carson City and Carson Valley churches will be praying and fasting for the 40 days between September 26 and November 4, and many will do so peacefully across from Planned Parenthood on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays—the days it’s open. “We want to draw members of the community together to share the vision of 40 Days for Life and to pray for God’s blessings on this effort. It is time to focus attention on the harm abortion has done to our community,” said Lori Courtney, coordinator for the Carson City 40 Days for Life campaign.
About 40 Days for Life
40 Days for Life is an innovative pro-life project that includes 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and grassroots educational outreach. The 40-day time frame is drawn from examples throughout Biblical history where God brought about world-changing transformation in 40-day periods, as well as the Christian season of Lent. Since its inception in College Station, Texas in 2004, nearly six thousand babies have been spared abortion, 69 abortion workers have left their jobs, and 24 abortion sites have closed. 40 Days For Life now involves Carson City, Reno-Tahoe, and 315 other locations in 6 countries.
