Spike McGuire on The Brother Dan Show on Monday at Carson City's Bank Saloon
This week, The Brother Dan Show welcomes singer/songwriter Spike McGuire to the Bank Saloon in Carson City. This is an opportunity for the local community to get to know this local musician, who not only tours internationally, but promotes other singer/songwriters through Loud As Folk, a monthly songwriter series that he founded in 2011, plus he is the front man of local band Six Mile Station.
McGuire likes to highlight the relationship between folk music and punk rock, both of which often veer into societal commentary and politics, engaging his audience with his message, driven by his acoustic guitar playing. There will be plenty of music and plenty of stories as host Brother Dan Palmer interviews, chats and makes music with Spike.
For the local in-person audience (21 and over), the show starts at 4:30pm at The Bank Saloon at 418 S. Carson St. in Carson City, complete with free munchies from Mangia Tutto. For online audiences, the show starts at 5pm on Facebook at the host’s music page: Brother Dan Palmer
The Bank Saloon features artwork from noted Nevada artists in its one-of-a-kind historic building. The venue features a rotating line-up of musical acts on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, in addition to The Brother Dan Show every Monday.
