Carson City Relay for Life to host team captain workshop March 19
Are you ready to “Paint your World Purple?” As a Team Captain or a Team Member in the Relay for Life, there are many things one can do to participate and create excitement about the upcoming Relay for Life on May 21. The Carson City Relay committee will hold a “Team Captain Experience” at the Carson City Sheriff’s Department on March 19 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The event will cover important information for the captains and members which will include toolkits to better coordinate fundraising goals. Team members will obtain resources like tracking sheets for team totals, Relay track schedules, and much more. It is a chance to set goals and reach fundraising milestones to save the lives that are effected by cancer.
Team captains will build the foundation to continue the tradition of raising money for those afflicted by cancer and for the loved ones who take care of them. The Relay for Life hopes to challenge participants by motivating them to mobilize and communicate with team members, and create a positive experience for years to come!
“Paint your World Purple” is the theme for the 2016 Relay for Life across the nation. Purple represents every type of cancer which is why it has been chosen to be the theme, and it is also the color for hope.
Participants must register for the “Team Captain Experience” by Mar. 16, 2016. To register, please contact Mary Hasselmann at mhasse3355@yahoo.com or (775) 400-6960.
