Winter Hike on the Fay-Luther Trail Sponsored Muscle Powered
Join us for a 5-mile loop hike on a trail south of Genoa called Fay-Luther. This is a wonderful trail built by the Carson Valley Trails Association winding up the foothills of the western mountains for beautiful views to the east and up the Carson Valley.
This is a relatively easy intermediate hike on sandy/dirt trails although there is some uphill climbing, some rocky trail sections, and a short trail area with a grade as steep as 12%.
We will meet shortly before 9:00 AM (to depart at 9:00) at the north end of the Target parking lot(corner of 395 and Jacks Valley Road) to carpool down Jacks Valley Road to the trailhead which is several miles south of Genoa. The hike itself will begin at 9:30 in case you want to meet the group at the trailhead parking lot. Go to https://carsonvalleytrails.org/fay-luther-trail/ for directions to the trailhead.
Dogs are welcome and must be on a leashed November 15 through March 30 to reduce stress on deer during the winter season. Bring water and snacks. Hiking poles are recommended.
If inclement weather, we will cancel by 8:30 AM. Email Debbie Lane at Debbie.Lane102@yahoo.com or go to Musclepowered.org/calendar or our Facebook page for any change to our plans.
