Supervisor Giomi to speak at Monday's Democratic luncheon
Featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be former Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi, currently a member of the Board of Supervisors representing Ward 1. He assumed office on January 7, 2019 and has announced his intention to run for reelection later this year.
Giomi serves as the Board of Supervisor's representative on the Carson City Cultural and Tourism Authority, the Carson Water Sub-Conservancy District, and the Western Nevada Legislative Coalition. He is also Carson City’s representative to the Nevada Association of Counties.
Giomi has been appointed by three separate governors to a number of state commissions, including the State Emergency Response Commission and the State of Nevada Homeland Security Commission’s Funding Committee. He's a past president of the Nevada Fire Chiefs Association, past president of Advocates to end Domestic Violence, and former Secretary of the RSVP governing board. Over the years he has taken leadership roles with numerous other community organizations, from the AYSO to the PTA.
Stacey's day job is Director of Facilities Security & Emergency Preparedness for Nevada Health Centers. This organization provides medical and dental care to low-income, uninsured, under-insured and geographically isolated Nevadans. It's the largest community health center in Nevada, with facilities in seven counties.
Stacy raised two children in Carson City, both of whom graduated from Carson High and UNR. He also has one granddaughter. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, hiking with his black lab Lexi, traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, this event is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, February 14th, and can be attended either in person at Black Bear Diner, inside Max Casino, or online via Zoom. Those wishing to be on distribution for Zoom links should email Rich Dunn, Men's Committee Events Coordinator, at richdunn@aol.com.
