Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter is hosting a game watch at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at Jimmy G's in Carson City.

It's been two long years since Carson City's local roller derby team has gotten to put on their game face and bout to their hearts content.

The Carson Senators Varsity football team celebrates the win against Douglas High School Friday October15th and reclaimed The Rivalry Trophy!

Carson City local, Shane Trotter, has done it again: Trotter won the 24 Hour World Time Trial Championships for his age group in 2019, and he wanted to go back in 2020, but the event was cancelled due to Covid.

Trotter has been heavily training for these and other Ultra Cycling events for the past 4 years. He and his wife Nikki Trotter own a local Spin Studio, Life Cycle Spin and Yoga. Trotter does a lot of his training while teaching classes at the spin studio.

The Carson Senator Freshman Football Team closed out a great season on a beautiful fall day in Minden, Nevada with 28 to 7 victory over their arch rival Douglas Tigers.

Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a game watch at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, as the Las Vegas Raiders take on the Denver Broncos in Denver.

The first organized baseball games in Nevada dates back to 1869 when Carson City bested Virginia City 81-31.

By the early 20th century, many Nevada towns and fraternities had organized teams. Minor league baseball did not arrive until 1947, when the Las Vegas Wranglers and the Reno Silver Sox played in the sprawling Sunset League.

It is with great pride and pleasure that the Eagle Valley Women's Golf Club has been able to support the Carson High School girls golf team. This years check is $500. Thanks to Wade Greenlee and Keith Squires for their coaching! What a great team!

Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a game watch at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, as the Las Vegas Raiders take on the Chicago Bears in Las Vegas.

Dayton Intermediate School 7th and 8th grade girls basketball look to close out the season with the Sage Brush League Tournament. Games will be held in Yerington on October 8th, 2021. 7th grade plays at 3 pm and 8th grade at 4 pm with the winners advancing. Come out and support these young athletes.

Several local girls golf teams will get a financial boost this week. The annual Girlfriends Golf Tournament, held Sunday, Oct. 3 at Dayton Valley Golf Course, netted $3,795 which will be donated to several girls’ high school teams.

Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a Monday Night Football game watch at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4 at Jimmy G's, 301 N. Carson St. The Raiders will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Los Angeles. Raiders fans are welcome to join the Chapter or, hang out with members and cheer on our "men in black."

Gunner Wiebe, Sherman Oaks, Calif., fired a final round 6-under 66 and 20-under 268 total to lead a group of 21 qualifiers who advance from Stage One Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying at Dayton Valley Golf Club.

Li Wang, Seattle, Wash., fired a 7-under 65 for a 16-under 200 total to take a one-shot lead after the third round of Stage One Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying at Dayton Valley Golf Club. Tied for second at 15-under 201 are David Bradshaw, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. and Gregory Moss, Sherman Oaks, Calif. who both carded 4-under 68.

DAYTON — First round leader Sklyer Finnell, Santa Fe, Calif. carded a 3-under 66 in the second round for an 11-under 133 total at the halfway point to maintain a share of the lead. He was joined atop the leaderboard by Gregory Moss, Sherman Oaks, Calif. with the low second round of 6-under 66 and David Bradshaw, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. who carded a 5-under 67.

DAYTON — Skyler Finnell, Santa Fe, Calif., parlayed a sizzling 7-under par 29 on his front nine (the course back nine) into an 8-under par 64 and a one stroke lead after the first round of Stage One Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying at Dayton Valley Golf Club. He leads Noah Norton, Chico, Calif. who fired a 7-under 65 in his first ever Q-school round.

The UNR Ski Swap returns this Friday through Sunday, Oct. 1-3 to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, showcasing new and gently used skis, snowboards, boots, and winter outerwear.

Congratulations to Kathy Streeter who won Low Gross Over the field and Debi Penrod who won Low Net over the Field during the Women's Club Championship at Silver Oak Golf Club. Over the two-day tournament Kathy shot a 160 (Gross) and Debi shot a 146 (net). Great job ladies and to all the ladies who participated.

Las Vegas Raiders fans are welcome to join Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter this Sunday for a game watch as the Miami Dolphins take on the Raiders at 1:05 p.m.

Some of the best up and coming golfers from across the country will soon descend on the Dayton Valley Golf Course to begin their quest for a PGA tour card. The Dayton Valley Golf Course is hosting the first round of qualifying for the Korn Ferry tour, which is a developmental tour for the PGA.

Despite a one year pause in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dayton Valley Golf Club will continue a record run of 26 consecutive years of hosting PGA Tour Q-school, the longest streak for any course in the nation from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1.

On Friday, Sept. 10, the Carson High Varsity Football team defeated Galena High School 48-0 at the 7 p.m. game which took place at Carson High School.

The Carson Senator Freshman Football team rolled into Reno High School on Thursday afternoon and dominated the game from the opening kick.

The Senators offense was hitting on all cylinders as they scored on all 5 possessions in the first half to open up a 34-0 lead at the intermission.

On August 28th the Carson High Varsity Football team will be hosting a home game against Wooster High School. Fans can view live streams of any of the future games on the NFHS Network’s website.

With rounds of 78 and 74, Jim Fuller edged John Owens to win the 2021 Sunday Men’s Club championship at Silver Oak Golf Course in Carson City.

A welcome home gathering for Olympic bronze medalist and Northern Nevada athlete Krysta Palmer and diving coach Jian LiYou will be Tuesday at Reno-Tahoe International Airport, at 2:30 p.m.

Nevada’s Krysta Palmer won a bronze medal in women’s 3-meter springboard diving and became the first woman to win a medal in the event in 33 years.

DAYTON — Henry Chung, Cerritos, Calif., fired an 8-under par 64 to take medal honors in a Pre-qualifying tournament at Dayton Valley Golf Club for the PGA Tour Barracuda Championship. Fifteen players from the field of 44 earned a spot in Monday’s Qualifier at Hidden Valley Country Club in Reno.

On Sunday, August 22, 2021, the Carson City Victory Rollers will hold our own Back to School Bash, Open Charity Scrimmage. This scrimmage is open to all skaters who have passed minimum skills testing. Please bring both black and white to play. The cost for guest skaters and spectators is $5.
