Nevada increases hiring of military veterans for state jobs, expands employment support to spouses
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 07/31/2022 - 2:46pmCARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Administration announced Wednesday a substantial increase in the number of U.S. military veterans hired for state jobs, with veterans now making up 6.2 percent of the state workforce in Nevada, up from 1.8 percent in 2016. Veteran hiring has surged in the past year, with an average of 70 veterans hired per quarter compared to 8 per quarter historically.
