Carson win streak ends at Douglas
Last month, the Carson High freshman boys basketball team staged a big second half comeback to defeat arch rival Douglas. The Senators were unable to duplicate that feat on Friday, as Douglas led start to finish en route to a 57-45 victory in Minden.
Carson, which had won 15 games in a row, finished its season with a 13-1 Sierra League record, 20-2 overall. Carson and Douglas were the league's top two teams.
Douglas led 20-11 after one quarter, 33-24 at halftime and 42-37 after three quarters.
Leading scorers for Carson were Rafe King and Casey Wolfe with 8 points each. Jay Lanuza and Jacob McClelland added 6 points each for the Senators.
Back on Jan. 22, the Senators rallied from a 20-point deficit to beat the Tigers 56-51 in Carson City.
