Focused on 'the now' ... Eric Maupin looks to help Wildcats any way he can
A lot has happened to Eric Maupin over the past year.
Last January, he broke into the lineup as a freshman transfer for Western Nevada College team and helped the Wildcats compile a 48-14 overall record, win the Scenic West Athletic Conference championship and finish third at the Juco World Series. Now, Maupin is looking to step up into a leadership role for the new-look Wildcats, who have even higher aspirations for the season to come. "It should be an exciting year," Maupin said on Friday during practice at Line Drive U in the Carson Valley. "Our goal is to win the World Series, not just get there. We have a lot of work to do, but we all have the same goal we're all pushing for. I think we have the talent, so I think that goal is attainable. We just have to take it one game at a time."
