The Friends in Service Helping, FISH Student Housing project taking shape in downtown Carson City is moving along on schedule. Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of June 12-18, 2023. Closures are expected at the following locations due to road and utility work:

School isn't out for the summer at Western Nevada College. There are many opportunities for individuals to catch up on the pursuit of degrees, take classes of special interest, and change or upgrade career paths during WNC’s Summer session.

Just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday reports came in that the road near Koontz and Silver Sage and near the Post Office appear to be “caving in” presumably due to flooding.

Motorists must avoid this area for their own safety.

A sudden hail storm Saturday afternoon caused flooding in some neighborhoods and covered downtown in an icy blanket reminiscent of Christmas’s morning, with hail larger than peas in size.
