Fall Colors at Marlette Lake
Nevada is overflowing with beautiful scenery. No matter which direction you travel, you're guaranteed to come across something spectacular. I especially enjoy the yellow-blooming sage brush before a backdrop of rolling hills, our mountains of gorgeous pines and hustling wildlife, and our nearby lakes surrounded by the changing colors of fall.
I set out on Sunday to capture some of the fall colors and nature did not disappoint. A leisurely mountain bike ride took me from Spooner Lake up North Canyon road to Marlette Lake. The sun was bursting through the yellow aspen leaves creating a golden glow over the forest floor. The greens were vibrant and the sky was a brilliant blue. The surface of the lake was pristine, calm, glass-like.
No matter what is going on in our hectic lives, a little visit with our beautiful surroundings can bring a subtle calmness.
