Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest log for Wednesday

A 20-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday in the area of Carson and 7th Street on a misdemeanor charge of violation of bail conditions, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

According to the arrest report, the deputy made contact with two people at a convenience store in the 700 block of South Carson Street. The officer recognized the two from prior contact and knew they should not have been in contact with each because of a forthcoming domestic battery hearing.

Pair sought in theft of TV, DVD player from Walmart in Gardnerville

Two men are being sought by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in connection with the April 14 theft of a television and DVD player from the Walmart store in Gardnerville.

The two men entered the store at 1511 Grant Avenue at 2:21 p.m. and picked a TV and DVD player from the electronics’ section, according to Sgt. Pat Brooks. The men left without paying for the merchandise, driving away in a red Ford Taurus. Store surveillance was able to capture images of the men in the above photos.

Man arrested after allegedly stalking teen at Carson High School track meet

A 58-year-old man was arrested Saturday by Carson City sheriff's deputies on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm on school grounds and stalking, both gross misdemeanor offenses.

The Minden man was at a track meet at Carson High School and was stalking a female student, whom he made contact with a week prior, according to the arrest report. The man handed the student a business card, telling her: "Text me, hey, when you feel the time is right."

Pair sought after allegedly breaking more than 300 packs of incandescent light bulbs at Walmart

Two males are being sought by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office after they intentionally knocked over 332 packs of incandescent light bulbs last month at Walmart in Gardnerville.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help with identifying the two males in the photo above.

According to Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Brooks, the two males entered the store at 10:21 p.m., on March 26. They walked to the automotive section and on one of the end caps of the aisle, one of the two intentionally knocked over the boxes of bulbs breaking the majority of them.

Carson City woman arrested on felony child abuse charge after striking son inside store

A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony child abuse causing mental or physical harm after surveillance inside a retail store captured her backhanding her six-year-old son in the face for no apparent reason.

Ashley Rose Mields was arrested at Walmart, in the 3200 block of Market Street at 7 p.m., after Carson City dispatch received 911 calls from customers reporting the incident. She is being held on $40,000 bail.

Man jailed on drug charges gives Carson City officers his brother's ID to avoid arrest

Two men were arrested Friday, 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of William and Stewart streets in Carson City on drug-related charges.

Casey S. Clifford, 20, faces a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and three lesser charges: obstructing an officer, possession marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A 31-year-old man was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

Pair jailed following alleged receipt for cash scheme at Carson City Walmart

Two Carson City women face gross misdemeanor charges of conspiracy to obtain money through false pretense after allegedly using a Walmart receipt exchanging it out for cash.

The women, ages 45 and 50, were arrested Saturday at 12:23 p.m. According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street after store security had the pair detained.

Carson City deputies arrest pair on suspicion of felony marijuana sales and transportation

Carson City sheriff's deputies arrested two on felony drug charges Tuesday following a traffic stop on North Roop Street in which one of the suspects fled and was later caught.

Arrested were Michael Jonathan Lang, 20, of Sparks and Jacob Lee Stephenson, 20 of Reno. Approximately 120 grams of marijuana was found inside the vehicle after a search.

Trio face felony burglary, larceny charges in theft of computers from Walmart

Three Carson City Jail inmates were booked Monday on felony charges of burglary and grand larceny following an investigation into the theft of three computers stolen from Walmart on Jan. 21, 2014.

The men arrested are Joseph Larson, 24 of Dayton, Michael Harrell and John Kramer, both 20. Each face bail amounts of $30,000.

Woman admits to stealing rings from Carson City department store

A Gardnerville woman was booked into Carson City Jail on Tuesday with felony warrants for her arrest on suspicion of grand larceny. Sunshine Dawn Workman, 38, was booked into jail at 4:10 p.m. with a bail amount of $17,500.

The Category C felony grand larceny warrant was issued out of Carson City Justice Court on Sept. 5, 2013. A second warrant for a theft charge out of Douglas County's East Fork Township Justice Court was issued Dec. 6, 2013.

Carson City man jailed for court violations, witnesses said he tried to break into cars

A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Thursday morning in the 3200 block of Market Street. He faces misdemeanor charges of violation of pre-trial supervision and court-ordered supervision.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the area of Walmart on Market Street in reference to a possible vehicle burglary in progress. On arrival several employees pointed to man in front of the store. They alleged the man was going through the parking lot and checking locked doors on vehicles, according to deputies via dispatch.

Woman driving without a license jailed after giving cops fake name

A 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday following a traffic stop near the intersection of College Parkway and Sherman. Carin Elizabeth Bohannan faces a felony charge of using false identification to avoid prosecution and a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City Sheriff's patrol deputy conducted a traffic stop at 10:29 p.m. because of a non-functioning tail light.

Douglas authorities look for man who stole TV from Gardnerville Walmart

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who walked into the Walmart at 1511 Grant Avenue in Gardnerville on Dec. 13 and walked out with a 50-inch television set.

The man is described as six feet to six-feet-six inches tall, approximately 200 pounds, wearing a blue and white plaid short sleeve shirt, dark colored jeans and tennis shoes with green shoe laces, said Sgt. Pat Brooks.

Holiday with a Hero treats Carson City area school children in need to Walmart shopping spree

More than 160 Carson City elementary school children, many identified as homeless, living in shelters or with parents and family members in motel rooms, were treated as the heroes they are early Tuesday morning.

With a loud chant of "Santa" the jolly bearded man in the red suit arrived at the parking lot of Walmart on Market Street by way of a CareFlight air ambulance to deliver tidings of great joy to 168 Carson City school children by giving them a chance to shop for themselves and meet up with adults they can now consider trusted friends.

Two jailed on felony charges in separate thefts at Walmart stores in Carson City and Douglas County

A Dayton woman was arrested by Carson City authorities Saturday on suspicion of felony burglary and being in violation of a suspended sentence after trying to leave Walmart with 117 items valued at $874.

Kelsey Wilkison, 25, is being held on $23,000 bail. She was detained at a Dayton Casino by Lyon County authorities until Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies investigating the alleged theft arrived to interview and subsequently arrest her.

Douglas authorities ask for help identifying woman who stole $300 from ATM account

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman believed to have stolen money from an ATM machine inside Walmart off of Highway 395 in Carson City.

The woman appears to be in her late 50s, is of Native American decent, wearing a 49ers jacket, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pat Brooks.

The victim stated on Nov. 1 at 6:30 a.m., he entered the Walmart and used the ATM machine to withdraw $300 cash from his account. The machine had a service message on the screen and that's when the victim left to find a cashier.

The Toys for Tots HOTLINE will be open for families requesting toys for Christmas. The hotline opens December 2nd through December 23rd from 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday.

Toys for Tots will be serving children in Carson, Douglas, Storey and Lyon counties. The HOTLINE NUMBER IS 884-TOYS.

Toys for Tots will be kicking off the 2013 campaign with our local Marines at all three Walmart stores on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30.

Carson City Walmart cashier arrested, admits to stealing money from register

A 20-year-old Carson City man was was arrested Thursday and admitted to felony embezzlement from Walmart, his employer.

Kyle James Bettencourt is being held in Carson City Jail on $20,000 bond. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to Walmart on Market Street and spoke with store security personnel who advised they had been monitoring Bettencourt's cash transactions while he was working the register.

Man jailed for reckless driving, nearly hit children while allegedly doing 'doughnuts' in parking lot

An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Nov. 8, 7:28 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Roop Street. He faces a gross misdemeanor charge of child endangerment and a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving.

According to the arrest report, the man, driving a red 1998 Ford Mustang, was accelerating quickly, spinning his tires and doing "doughnuts" in a convenience store parking lot near the gas pumps in front numerous citizens and small children. It was observed that people were grabbing their children and moving them to safety away from the vehicle as the man was pulling the stunts.

Carson City man allegedly squirts hypodermic needle in front of officer, booked on felony drug charges

A 27-year-old Carson City man faces felony drug charges after being arrested in the parking lot of Walmart Wednesday.

Richard Reid Adams was arrested at 12:21 p.m. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the parking lot after receiving information that it appeared as if someone was attempting to break into a vehicle and had, earlier, went through a back pack located inside the trunk.
