Sierra Lutheran High School Hosts 7th and 8th Grade Visit

Sierra Lutheran High School will be hosting a 7th and 8th Grade Visitation day on Monday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon.
A free lunch will be provided. Students will have opportunities to tour the school, meet faculty and current students, participate in activities, and hear about the various academic, athletic, and arts programs available. Although “every day at Sierra Lutheran is an open house,” this is the perfect opportunity for prospective students to come preview all that Sierra Lutheran has to offer.

Navy sailors to perform volunteer services in Carson City

Fifteen sailors from Carrier Air Wing Three of Virginia Beach, VA will be in Carson City on Saturday, Oct. 3 and Saturday, Oct. 10 to perform volunteer work at some of our most historic sites.

The sailors will be training at Fallon Naval Air Station and when in any community perform volunteer duties to “leave each place we visit in better condition,” according to Lt. Robert D Fasnacht, group leader.

Railroad Photographer Exhibition coming to Carson City

Bull riding to raise money for family of slain officer

Manuel Souza is bringing back his Smackdown Bull Riding tour to Carson City — this time as a fundraiser for Deputy Carl Howell, who was killed in the line of duty last month.

“I think it’s the right thing for us to do as people,” said Souza, who is working in cooperation with the Carson City Sheriff’s Deputy Association. “Police officers do a thankless job. But they’re always there when you need them, aren’t they? I think it’s important we do this.”

The Mallory Foundation’s tradition of innovation and commitment to community is once again on prominent display with the unveiling of the newly renovated “Mallory Emergency Department” at Carson Tahoe Health. Volunteers needed, September training for Nevada State Museum
