Nevada State Prison prepares for public tours

Courses announced for inaugural Epic Rides, Carson City Off-Road mountain bike event

The event, June 17-19, will gives riders three distance options: beginner, weekend warrior and pro level.
The riding courses were picked in cooperation with Visit Carson City, the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and Nevada State Parks.

A tour of our Historical west side will give you a new perspective on some of the neat old houses we have around downtown. If you get hungry, it’s hard to go wrong with all you can eat wings at Firkin and Fox; they’ve set up new patio seating on the south side while their Third Street patio gets rebuilt. Lunch or dinner at Chili’s will help the homeless pets that Nevada Humane Society serves.

While you’re there, take a good gander at the Great Basin Native Artists show on display in the Sierra Room.

Evangelist holds rally at State Capitol in Carson City
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Wed, 03/30/2016 - 3:37pmWell-known Christian evangelist Franklin Graham held a rally Wednesday afternoon at the State Capitol amphitheatre in Carson City, encouraging people to live out their faith and get involved in the political process.
The event was part of Graham's Decision America Tour 2016, a national outreach effort of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) to visit the state capitals of all 50 states this year, spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and encourage grass-roots involvement in the political process in communities across the country.

Renown educator encourages Carson City to bring innovation home to the classrooms

While she has a passion for performing, she knows it can be hard to pay the bills singing and dancing, so she plans to pursue a degree in business finance or management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Easy Walk Program: A different walk every week on Tuesdays. Walks are easy paced, on level ground, of approximately 1 hour duration, and of no cost to participants. All skill levels are welcome and leader is willing to work with participants to develop an individual walking program. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and leader may request physician’s release if needed. During rain or snow meet at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC) at 1870 Russell Way.

Participants from Kiribati, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan visited with Carson Tahoe Health physicians, nurses and staff to specifically learn more about the hospital’s approach to delivering superior healthcare to women.
