The show features Lisa Lynne & Aryeh Frankfurter playing two Celtic harps, the rare Swedish Nyckelharpa, and assorted instruments from the mandolin, cittern and bouzouki family. The audience will hear Traditional instrumental music from Sweden and Ireland as well as heartwarming original compositions blended with stories of humor and adventure.
Museum offers opportunity for fun, friendships with tour guide training in February

Volunteers are needed now and invited to join the free event that includes lectures, enrichment activities and all materials. Volunteers train to give tours of Nevada State Museum and the State Capitol for school-aged children and adults.

Comstock Cemetery Foundation benefits from Virginia City's own Nevada-made gin spirit

Spearheaded by the Virginia City Tourism Commission, the gin is a product of Frey Ranch Estate Distillery, located in Fallon, Nev., where all the ingredients were grown, distilled and bottled.

Carson City wins tourism grants for mountain bike promotion, art walk, MAC and powwow

Gov. Mark Hutchison announced Wednesday.
Operation Warm: Carson City firefighters distribute 235 new coats to students in need
Submitted by editor on Wed, 12/09/2015 - 12:53pmThe Carson City Firefighters Association purchased 235 brand new coats for Carson City students in transition between permanent homes through Operation Warm after raising almost $7,500, nearly double the amount raised in last year’s drive.
Firefighters on Wednesday began distributing coats to children selected by the Carson City School District at Fritsch Elementary School, which is the first stop on the distribution tour of district schools.

Plans are underway for 2016 as the school enters its 140th year. The museum opens with a new exhibit in May 2016 and welcomes new Executive Director Lara Mather starting in January 2016.
