Are you itching for the weekend? It will be musically magical with a plethora of Jazz and Beyond Music Festival events throughout town. It’s a classic car lover’s dream come true, as well, with Hot August Nights in Reno and Sparks. But don’t get ahead of yourself, today has some great options for a good time. Enjoy some air conditioned entertainment with the Carolyn Dolan Band at the Carson Mall. ‘Elvis, Marilyn and the Space Aliens’ and their place in the movies is the topic of this month’s Douglas County Historical Society’s lecture.

The soft opening of the accompanying carnival begins at 6 p.m. with one dollar rides. It’s Miss Scarlet with the lead pipe in the Observatory as the Carson City Library hosts a super-sized game of Clue for teens. Families will enjoy Beauty and the Beast, complete with a craft, if they sign up for the Library’s movie night. Teen reported missing in Lake Tahoe area found safe

UPDATE 11:20AM From Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong: Juvenile Sean Ascuaga of Reno was located at Marlette Dam. He was found safe and unharmed, but will be checked by paramedics before transporting back to Carson City to family members.

Search teams from Carson City and Washoe County are looking for a missing 17-year-old male who has been reported missing and was last seen in the Chimney Beach area of Lake Tahoe on Monday afternoon.

Carson City deputies arrest 11 teens at underage marijuana and booze party

Carson City Sheriff Office deputies broke up a large underage alcohol and marijuana party at a home Saturday night occupied by dozens of juveniles, issuing a handful of citations and making 11 arrests for obstructing officers, curfew violation and minor consuming.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is requesting the public’s help in locating a runaway male juvenile. Andrew Pinedo, 16, was last seen Wednesday, June 14 near Saliman Road and East William Street in Carson City.

Free Arts and Science Events This Summer in Historic Silver City

Kick start your bike and head to Battle Born Harley; their Bike Night features live music by the Smoken Rabbits. Keep a sweater handy, the temperature is dipping a little, and will drop even further as soon as the sun goes down.
