Fire in Lakeview area off of Coombs Canyon Road knocked down

Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon reports the fire that started just before 12:30 this afternoon was knocked down shortly after firefighters arrived. The cause of the fire, between 1 to 2 acres, is under investigation. A Carson City sheriff's deputy was told by the homeowner the fire started from a lawnmower. There were no structures that burned.

Carson City Fire Department called to structure fire on Koontz

UPDATE 3:30PM: A fire investigator was called following a smoldering fire inside a residence that happened in a 12 foot by 15 foot bedroom, said Carson City Fire Department On-Duty Battalion Chief Jason Danen. Firefighters arrived at the residence in the 1000 block of Koontz Lane and found smoke in a bedroom where the fire had been smoldering. The cause is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department called to structure fire on Rawhide Way

UPDATE 9:30PM: A fire that started in the kitchen area of a Rawhide Way residence and spread into the attic was quickly knocked down Tuesday night, said Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Raw.
It started as a cooking fire and went into the exhaust system, extending into the attic, he said. It was knocked down within 15 minutes upon arrival.

Carson City emergency crews called to brush fire at Fifth Street and Country Village

UPDATE 4:25PM: Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Dan Shirey said the fire at Fifth near Country Village and near a field across from Little Lane was approximately 15 feet by 20 feet in size in a field surrounded by graded dirt. The fire put out a lot of smoke however, there was virtually no wind to spread the fire, he said.
"The conditions ... are that there's still a lot of moisture in the ground, and limited wind today, so it was a matter of minutes before it was knocked down, contained and now mopped up," he said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department was called Monday afternoon to a brush fire in the area of Country Village and Fifth Street. The call came into dispatch at around 3:35 p.m., and was reported to be threatening nearby structures, with flames and smoke growing, according to first responders on scene.
