CARSON CITY — With a theme "The NexGen of Aviation is You" the 2018 Carson City Airport Open House looks to the skies to celebrate the future this Saturday, June 23. The free community, family-friendly event draws thousands of visitors annually, where airplane and aircraft enthusiasts gather to learn about aviation and aerospace related careers.

Carson Tahoe Health held an open house Tuesday to unveil its new robotic surgical system, the daVinci Xi, which uses the latest in robotic, computer and optical technology, according to Carson Tahoe Health. Attendees were offered the opportunity to run training "games" on the simulator and also the daVinci Xi itself.

Members of the Sierra Nevada Youth Optimist Club will be hosting robotics camps at Western Nevada College July 17th – July21st.
There will be two separate sessions to meet the needs of different ages: the morning session (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) will be targeted to grades K - 4th and will use the LEGO WeDo robotics kits; the afternoon session (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) will be targeted to grades 4th - 8th and will use the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robotics kits.
