Activities include the annual parade down Carson Street, a carnival at Mills Park, the 30th annual Nevada Day Classic, The La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow at the MAC, beard and rock drilling contests, delicious food dishes, pancakes, chili and plenty of beverages to suit kids and adults of all ages.
SLHS XC at Bella Vista Bronco Invitational
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 10/23/2019 - 5:49pmSierra Lutheran High School's Andreas Gilson (Junior) ran a personal best 5K in Rocklin, California of 17:55 against a loaded field at the Bella Vista Bronco Invitational on Saturday he finished 31st.
Junior Jacob Tack ran 20:16, good for 91st place, he was followed by Sophomore Aaron Waite who covered the scenic wooded course in 20:55 (105th), and Freshman Flynn Scheibe was 119th in 22:10. In the girls race three young Falcons flew through the rolling course in tight formation.

Carson City to cut ribbon, show outdoor movie Wednesday at new Schulz Ranch Park

Built by Lennar Homes, the park is owned by Carson City, with maintenance funded through the City’s first Landscape Maintenance District. The 3.5-acre park, located in the Schulz Ranch subdivision, is at the corner of Race Track Road and Wheeler Peak Drive, is home to the second universally accessible playground in Carson City.

Fall is in the air in Carson City, and a change in the weather was one more reason for kids and adults alike to get out and celebrate this year’s Disney themed Happiest Homecoming on Earth.

That fated Tuesday and the days immediately following it truly were, for those of us who witnessed the events unfold, altogether the worst of times and the best of times.
On the same day, we watched two jetliners burst into fireballs after striking both towers of the World Trade Center in Manhattan and dozens of heroic first responders run toward danger, putting themselves courageously in harm’s way to rescue people trapped inside.

There are three walk/run events this year. There is a 2-Mile walk/run, an 8K event, and a 1-Mile walk/run for kids 12 and under.
