Take a ride on the McKeen Motor Car at the Nevada State Railroad Museum or the Ferris Wheel at RSVP’s Spring Fair and Carnival. A Harmonica and Strings Concert at Empire Elementary School showcases what some of our talented students can do. Get up early and head over to the Carson City Airport if your youngster has any interest in planes: Young Eagles flights are happening today if the weather permits.

Chili on the Comstock is hosting their inaugural Fun with the Runs 5K Saturday at 10 a.m. The 1926 Edwards Motor Car is running, too, and ready for rides at the Nevada Railroad Museum. The wine walk is always a good time, and with Mother’s Day next weekend, it can’t hurt to peruse the shops before you run out of time to pick the perfect gift.

With the start and finish line at Heavenly’s California Base Lodge, spectators will be updated with live race announcements, and entertained with high-energy music, local and Amgen Tour of California exhibitors, food and beverage.

The track is unseen and not pre mapped out for riders prior to the race. It’s kept as a mystery and riders take the punches as they come. The track is just trails in the hills of Nevada. No track maintenance or perfectly groomed jumps here. Track length is 21-25 miles long, this year it was 22.1. Our group signed up for Sunday.

Carson City race participant in Prison Hill Challenge found after being reported missing

Carson City Search and Rescue was called Saturday afternoon to the area of Silver Saddle Ranch east of Carson City for the participant who had not checked out after the race. The man’s vehicle remained in the parking area and he had not check out, according to dispatch.
