Virginia City’s 32nd annual Chili on the Comstock to feature Saloon Crawl, 5K Run
The 32nd annual Chili on the Comstock once again brings the heat May 2-3 to the Comstock in historic Virginia City, Nev. The historic mining town plays host to more than 30 professional chili cooks and hundreds of revelers participating in the Crawl Back In Time Fireball Saloon Crawl, a sampling of themed beverages from 15 locations. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
New this year is the Fun with the Runs! inaugural 5K that starts on the main drag, C Street. The run starts at 10 a.m., the same time as the event, with runners and walkers making their way through the hilly terrain back to the cook-off venue. Participants are encouraged to dress in costume with winners to be selected prior to the race.
Family-friendly activities also include the Kids Zone with a bungee trampoline, giant slide and bounce house located at the Delta Saloon parking lot. Single tickets sold the day of the event.
The two-day event brings the best chili cookers from around the west to complete daily for the bragging rights and the people’s choice award with winners receiving cash prizes.
