Desert Born Art Project Opens At Dayton Library

Dayton, Nv. The Desert Born Art Project opened on Monday, August 29 at the Dayton Valley Branch Library. Pamela Nesbit and Donna Nelson of Smith Valley, Nv. are two local area artists that have collaborated to create very unique art by combining old objects found on the desert and repurposing the objects into art. Their work will be on display through the month of September and the first couple weeks of October of this year. The exhibit is free at the Dayton Valley Branch Library.

A 49-year-old man wanted in California on felony fugitive from justice charges was arrested Sunday morning in the area of Carson and Corbett streets, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Four jailed on felony burglary charges

Four people were arrested Sunday on felony burglary and drug charges after two attempted to steal more than $800 worth of merchandise from a Carson City Walmart store, fleeing security officers and then getting into a vehicle occupied by two that had backpacks of new merchandise with tags, ledgers, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested on felony charges were Ashley Dadey, 28, Jessica Sanchez, 23, Priscilla Denise Roches, 28, and Pablo Benito Martinez, 35.

Two cases involving stolen, forged credit cards results in three arrests

Three Sacramento area women were arrested Saturday in two separate cases involving stolen credit cards, fraud and forgery. Carson City Sheriff’s Office investigators are trying to determine if the cases are related, said Lt. Brian Humphrey.

In the first arrest, officers recovered stolen credit cards, equipment to make credit cards, as well as stolen checks from victims in Douglas County and Sacramento, according to the arrest report.
