As of today, retailers must adhere to the 50 percent capacity limits, alternatively, many businesses use online marketplace platforms, which may be more convenient. The COVID – 19 impact left many small businesses reliant on online platforms to maintain sales.

COVID-19 Task Force takes action on high transmission risk counties such as Carson City, Lyon and more

Carson City, Clark, Elko, Humboldt, Lincoln, Lyon, Nye and Washoe counties’ plans were previously approved by the Task Force.

DETR: Growth in long-term unemployed numbers reflected by continued claims
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 11/20/2020 - 11:17amFor the week ending November 14, initial claims for unemployment insurance (UI) totaled 7,243, down 313 claims, or 4.1 percent, compared to last week’s total of 7,556 claims, according to finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR). Through the week ending November 14, there have been 760,038 initial claims filed in 2020, 738,386 of which have been filed since the week ending March 14.
Carson City library director to speak at Democratic tele-luncheon

Carson City businesses can now be reimbursed for outdoor portable heaters

With the approaching winter season, the Board of Supervisors recently authorized the City to use CARES Act money for portable outdoor heaters in order to reinforce the necessary protocols.

"Feliz NaviDAD" and "Once Upon a Main Street" filmed in various locations around Carson City and in Douglas County and are set to premiere on Lifetime on Nov. 21 and Nov. 29, respectively.

Comment opens for Humboldt-Toiyabe forest plan to increase pace, scale of prescribed fires

The purpose of this project is to increase the pace and scale of prescribed burning on lands within 6.2 million acres of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada and a small portion of eastern California.
Senator Square: Carson High students compete in organ, tissue donor art competition

Carson City Fire Department will allow for open burning between Nov. 14 and Dec. 13

The purpose of the open burn period is to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of accumulated weeds and yard debris. In order to make this a safe endeavor for those involved, the Carson City Fire Department will require a burn permit.

Through the week ending November 7, there have been 752,795 initial claims filed in 2020, 731,143 of which have been filed since the week ending March 14.
