Greenhouse Project, Carson Tahoe Health offer 2020 Foothill Garden Education Series starting Friday

Site managers Cory King and William Pierz have put together the monthly series of classes.
Misfits Theater Group Holds Auditions for Spring Melodrama

This old-time melodrama directed by Andra Woolman is set in the Wild West and has a cast of eight (8) men and five (5) women. As with all melodramas, good triumphs over evil, love wins out, and laughs abound! Performance dates are April 24, 25, 26 and May 1, 2, 3 at the Odeon Hall in Dayton. For another, it’s already September and the first frost may not be far off, so why bother. In years past, I reminded people to expect the first frost around September 15 in most areas.

Carson City man arrested for DUI causing death

Mark Riesen was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the residence to complete a warrant service.
Both warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court on May 1, 2019.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Bail: $30,000
— A 40-year-old Silver Springs woman was booked on two additional warrants while in custody at the Carson City Jail.

Nevada Dept. of Agriculture lifts EHV-1 horse quarantines, restricted travel recommendations

One positive case related to an aborted horse was confirmed in Humboldt County; no quarantine has been issued for this case because the incubation period has passed, and no horses have been moved to or from the property.

Teenagers aren't joining the workforce, and Carson City pool programs are suffering

“We are a part of the aquatic community that is suffering right now,” said Mike Freeman, Recreation Program Manager at the Carson City Aquatics Center.

Final season of path construction along State Route 28 at Tahoe begins this month

Muscle Powered’s guided hikes are a great way to explore our town and learn about the many trails hidden in the hills. The Carson City Classic Cinema Club gets an extra-special visitor at tonight’s film viewing; STRAZZ, the Carson City Symphony’s Youth String Orchestra will be performing before ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ lights up the screen. Sandie LaNae and Arlene La Ferry are the featured authors at Browsers Corner Book Store this evening.
