The group, which is not affiliated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has as its slogan, "Same faith. Same values. Different perspective." Their mission, as laid out on their Facebook page, is to “promote the full participation of Latter-day Saints in the Democratic Party. We do this by providing educational and social resources to progressive, moderate, and conservative Democrats who are also LDS, and others who are interested in participating in a ‘no shouting’ environment.”

She is a widower who lost her wife of 42 years to cancer in 2012. Sherrie is the father of three grown children. She lived in Carson City from 1991 to 2005 and happily moved back in 2018.

Along with libraries across the country, the Carson City Library will be celebrating Banned Books Week (Sept. 22-28) with a special event to thank authors whose work has been prohibited or challenged.
Carson City Scores 50 out of 100 in LGBTQ Human Rights Index Survey

(KOLO)-- The city of Reno reported Thursday it received a perfect score on the 2018 Municipal Equality Index, a Human Rights Campaign rating system of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) inclusion in city law and policy.
It is a 31-point improvement since its first assessment in 2013. The city scored 91 on the initial 2018 assessment, with less-than-perfect ratings because of non-discrimination laws and municipal services.

If they were discharged with a less-than-honorable discharge based on their sexual orientation, they may be eligible for a discharge upgrade.
