It’s wine walk weekend, and depending on what kinds of days off you get, potentially the beginning of a four-day weekend. We will be celebrating the birthday of the United States of America on Tuesday, but there are some fun events to enjoy now. The Brewery Arts Center will continues an unforgettable season of free concerts under the stars in Carson City! this Saturday. Having started out strong last week with Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, the great music continues with The Novelists and Athena McIntyre.

Please remember that I am just the messenger and the bad news is that you can only be one place at once. You'll have to choose between a Beatles Experience in McFadden Plaza and the concert at the Brewery Arts Center Minnesota Street Stage, where the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies kick off the first of the Levitt Concert Summer Series. Get yourself registered for the Karson Kruzerz' annual 'Run Whatcha Brung' at the Max Casino and stick around for Route 66 on the stage. The board of directors of the Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation, a Reno based philanthropic organization awarded the Brewery Arts Center $18,576 to upgrade its stage equipment for not only the Levitt AMP Outdoor Concert series which kicks off this Friday night, June 23 with a free concert featuring the Grammy nominated swing band Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, but to be used in the existing indoor theaters year round.

In this edition of It’s Your City, host Cortney Bloomer sits down with Jeff Fast of the Brewery Arts Center to discuss the Levitt-AMP Concert Series that begins this Friday in Carson City featuring Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

The streets of downtown Carson City come alive this month with the sound of music as concert series fill the summer air of the historic west side.

Soul-stirring jam band Dangermuffin, who brought last year's Levitt AMP Outdoor Concert to its feet with its groove-fueled, positive vibe music, returns this Saturday to Carson City with a performance at the Brewery Arts Center.

The Family Stone band, founded by musical legend Sly Stone, will headline the 2017 Concert Under the Stars sponsored by the Cafe at Adele's on July 12 at the Brewery Arts Center's Minnesota Street Stage, said Adele's co-owner Charlie Abowd.

The Downtown Business Association’s monthly Wine Walk pays no heed to what the weather serves up, and this Saturday has rain on the menu. Bundle up, grab an umbrella and your friends, and brave the weather for this fun event.

The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series elevated the Brewery Arts Center’s existing summer concert series, filling the Minnesota Street Stage with free, live music and transforming an underused street in the heart of downtown Carson City’s Historic District into a vibrant gathering place for the surrounding community.

The concert series will return again for 2017, according to Gina Lopez Hill, executive director of the Brewery Arts Center, which was responsible for last year's and this year's proposal to bring the concert series to Carson City and getting Carson City residents to vote for the capital city's chances online.

Carson City is once again in the running for the Levitt AMP grant that funded the Brewery Arts Center’s 2016 summer concert series.

Brewery Arts Center is currently in the running to bring a 10 week live music series to Carson City during the Summer of 2017. With the Levitt AMP Carson City 2016 Award, the Brewery Arts Center was able to bring in such Nationally renowned groups as Mumbo Gumbo, Southern Drawl Band and SambaDa’, for FREE concerts for 10 straight Saturday nights and became the cornerstone of entertainment and family friendly activities all summer long.

Brewery Arts Center is now in the running to bring back the 10 week FREE live music series to Carson City once again during the Summer of 2017.

Sponsored by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a national foundation dedicated to strengthening the social fabric of America through free live music, Brewery Arts Center hopes to qualify as one of 15 winning organizations competing in the Levitt AMP Grant Awards just as they did in 2016.

This weekend, I attended the final Levitt AMP concert for the summer at the Brewery Arts Center. Boy, was it fun! But, it also sparked a few connections for me which will result in business meetings this week. This, to me, is networking.

A pair of Northern Nevadans provided entertainment to hundreds gathered at the Minnesota Street Stage at the Brewery Arts Center (BAC) Saturday night, part of the Levitt-AMP Carson City Concert Series.

I can understand if your plans for the weekend include sitting half-naked in front of a swamp cooler with an icy beverage. It has been quite roasty these last few days. Let me, however, attempt to lure you out with this weekend’s event list; there is plenty of fun to be found around the valley. Some of your options even include air conditioning and icy beverages.

I really hope I’m not required to choose a favorite event. I would be hard pressed to choose between the Nevada Day Parade and the annual Taste of Downtown. Luckily, I can adore them both, and for much the same reason. They are a celebration of community, of Carson City, of our historic downtown and all that it has to offer.
