The USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit asks residents and visitors to share in the stewardship of their public lands, and to keep the following tips in mind to help everyone enjoy a safe and fun holiday.

Carson City man arrested on $25,000 burglary warrant issued by Lyon County

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2100 block of California Street on a $25,000 warrant out of Dayton Township, and a parole and probation hold.

Matthew James Kelley was arrested by Carson City deputies after a consensual stop was made by deputies.

Ande Engleman, Nevada journalist and press advocate, dies at 79

Andrea "Ande" Engleman, a former newswoman and longtime fixture in Nevada media who, as executive director of Nevada Press Association, was a strong advocate for open government and press freedom in the state, died of cancer at her home in Carson City on June 12. She was 79.
