Perfect weather ahead for September's Downtown Carson Wine Walk

Time for another wine walk, Carson City, thanks to the Downtown Business Association. Every first Saturday over 30 shops, restaurants, businesses, and organizations stock up on wine and goodies and throw open their doors to the crowds of merry-makers. It's always a great reason to explore downtown. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 and you have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins.

Carson City Fire Chief: Arson likely responsible for fires at historic Foreman-Roberts House

UPDATE 4:15PM From Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong: The Carson City Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office responded to two arson-related fires at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum over the weekend. The first fire was reported on Sunday morning at approximately 2:34 a.m., damaging primarily the east side of the structure. On Monday morning at approximately 4:29 a.m., another fire was reported, this time the origin site was located on the south side of the building. The two incidents have resulted in moderate damage to the building.

Three years of change and rebranding efforts by the Carson City Visitors Bureau (CCVB) are turning the Nevada state capital into a tourist destination, said CCVB Executive Director Joel Dunn, and no longer a point on the road map to pass through.

Summer nights were made for outdoor concerts. Bring a chair and enjoy All Hat, No Cattle at Dangberg Home Ranch Historical Park. The annual Reno Corvette Club Show and Shine will give you something to drool over. Mark McLaughlin’s latest book is not about meteorology, however it is about weather. In his book, McLaughlin focuses on the top ten biggest winters in the Tahoe Sierra based on snowfall measured at Donner Pass since 1879. He will share amazing weather facts and incredible stories of men and women struggling to cope against some of the most powerful storms on Earth.
