The Nature Conservancy Commends Passage of Groundwater Bill
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 06/06/2019 - 1:14pmAfter passing unanimously in the Assembly and Senate, Senate Bill 140 (SB 140), which sets aside 10 percent of uncommitted groundwater as a reserve, was signed into law yesterday by Gov. Steve Sisolak. The Nature Conservancy in Nevada is focused on protecting water for the environment and applauds the legislature and Governor for taking this innovative step toward conserving water for communities, for the environment, and for the future.

“Effective immediately, Assemblyman Jim Wheeler has resigned as Minority Floor Leader due to personal reasons. He nominated Dr. Robin Titus (R-AD 38) to be the new leader and she was unanimously elected by the full Caucus.”

Thompson was in care at Carson-Tahoe Medical Center when he passed away early Saturday morning.
He was 52 years old. At this time, no official cause of death has been reported.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed delivered the invocation from ancient Sanskrit scriptures. After Sanskrit delivery, he then read the English interpretation of the prayer. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and root language of Indo-European languages.
