These hikes vary from 45 minutes long like our historical Devil's Ladder hike to three hours long like our water color painting hikes.

Free Northern Nevada minerals education workshop happening June 21-22 in Carson City

We are offering two fun-filled days of rocks, minerals, general geology, and mining. This workshop will be our 37th Annual Workshop in Northern Nevada.
The workshop is provided FREE to teachers, everything is provided by the Nevada Mining Association members and Nevada Division of Minerals.

Two weeks after it woke Nevadans, the Nevada Seismological Lab has tracked a phenomenal 6,500 aftershocks — four at magnitude 5.0 and greater, from the earthquake sequence.

Earthquakes in Sun Valley, Washoe Valley serve as reminder that Nevada is seismically active

But, more than 1,200 people filed “felt reports” following the magnitude 3.7 earthquake in Washoe Valley the night of June 6. The shaking is a gentle reminder that Nevadans live in the third most seismically active state in the nation, behind Alaska and California.
