Events include the Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights, the 24th annual Parade of Lights in Gardnerville, the annual Project Empty Bowls dinner held at the Carson Mall, a Holiday Crawl in downtown Carson City and much more! Events include the 31st season of the Nutcracker Ballet, a Feast with a Hero fundraiser at Slot World, Small Business Saturday throughout Carson City and Carson Valley, photos with Santa, a Telegraph Square sign dedication, Polar Express train rides at the V&T Railroad and more!

Heading into the weekend before Thanksgiving, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the 25th annual Carson High School Holiday Craft Fair, a “War of the Worlds” play at the Brewery Arts Center, a Chili Bingo Night fundraiser to benefit the Carson Middle School Band, laughs at the Carson Nugget and much more.

The Carson City School District would like to share special thanks to Dolan Auto Group for donating $5,000 to Fremont Elementary School’s Comprehensive Life Skills class. The money was awarded as part of a community benefit program the dealership hosts each year.

Honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, Veteran's Day is Monday, Nov. 11 with a number of events happening around the capital city and Northern Nevada which began this week and will continue through Tuesday.

Heading into the Veterans Day weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next four days. Events include live comedy, art and heater, multiple holiday craft fairs around Carson City and Carson Valley as well as several Veterans Day ceremonies and offers of gratitude to vets and active duty members of the U.S. military on Monday. Carson City students are recognizing and honoring military men and women this week with Veteran’s Day displays and events. Veterans from all branches of military service, as well as families of students, have been encouraged to attend events Thursday, Friday and Tuesday. Campus visitors should check in at the front office at each school site.

The first week of November marches along with sunshine to continue into the foreseeable future. Events ahead for this Thursday include a regular meeting of the Carson City Board of Supervisors, a Mammovan stop at Nevada Health Centers, a Muscle Powered afternoon hike, and an evening with local artist Rebecca Fox at Artsy Fartsy Gallery.
