The 4-PAWS 4-H Dog Club is holding a Dog Biscuit Fundraiser at Benson's Feed & Tack, 2750 Highway 50 East in Carson City on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 9am-1pm. Youth group members will be offering homemade dog biscuits for donation. Stop by Benson's on Saturday for all your critter needs and pick up some yummy treats for your dog!

The Nevada Day Golf Tournament in remembrance of Mayor Bob Crowell will be held at Silver Oak Ranch Golf Course on Saturday. Dozens of fundraisers, including the Benson’s Feed 4 Paws 4-H group, will be scattered throughout the Carson City and Gardnerville areas. Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Rockabilly Riot car show, Dayton Valley Days, a pancreatic cancer awareness walk at Silver Oak Golf Course, the annual Pooch Plunge at the Carson Aquatic Facility, horse endurance races in Virginia City, history talks at Mormon Station Park and much more!

Annual 4-H fundraiser - The 4 Paws Dog Club of Carson City will be selling homemade dog biscuits in various sizes on Saturday, September 21, from 9:00 to noon, at Benson’s Feed, 2750 Highway 50 East. All proceeds from the bake sale will support this outstanding youth club.

The Carson City Fair is returning for its third year this month, and it’s bringing big changes and several new events to its roster including a demolition derby, American Ninja Farmer contests, jello eating contests, animal auctions, and more.

Carson City 4-H programs, brought to you through the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, have new and on-going project clubs open to area youth ages 5–18.

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension 4-H Clubs held their 2016-2017 Awards Night at the Governor’s Mansion Nevada Room on Nov. 15. At least 100 4-H youth from Carson City and Storey County received recognition for their accomplishments during the year.

You’ll see some pretty interesting vehicles on the road these next few days, as travelers from all over head to Burning Man. If you aren’t off to the Playa yourself, there will be plenty of fun around town to keep you and your family occupied. The second annual Family Fun Day in Mills Park is your best bet for kids of all ages. This week’s free concert at Brewery Arts Center features the Dusty Green Bones. Don’t forget your dancing shoes; they’re sure to keep you on your feet.

4 Paws 4-H Dog Club leader, Annamarie Thompson and club members will be selling their wonderful homemade dog biscuits beginning at 9 am this Saturday, August 26, at Benson’s Feed Store, 2750 Highway 50.

This is a club fundraiser for their upcoming 2017 – 2018 4-H year. Drop on by and treat your canine pal to some homemade and nutritious goodies and help support 4 Paws.

After five years in the 4 Paws 4-H Dog Club, Morgan Craghill, 14, had her first opportunity to compete in an actual dog show this week as part of the Carson City Fair at Fuji Park.

Since 1989 the annual Nevada Day Classic, an 8K Run or 2-mile Run/Walk presented by the Tahoe Mountain Milers, brings together hundreds of runners and walkers of all shapes and sizes — as Halloween costumes are encouraged — who hit the streets of the historic West Side of Carson City with Guide Dog Puppies-in-Training serving as course marshals to woof them on! Families and groups can participate in the walk, enjoy the race breakfast, and help celebrate Nevada by enjoying the Nevada Day Parade that immediately follows the Classic.

This year, for the race's 25th anniversary and the Nevada’s 150th, the Classic will be organized in partnership with the Carson City Guide Dog Club and all net proceeds will go to Guide Dogs For The Blind.

The Carson/Storey 4-H Council held their Annual Awards Night on Jan. 26, 2014. The event was conducted in the Fuji Park Pavilion. Members of the Silver Sage 4-H Community Club served as emcees.

Youth and leaders of the following clubs received recognition for their number of years in a project: Arrowhead Livestock, Bouncing Bunnies, Bug Huggers, Carson Cluckers, Carson Hot Shots, Comstock Hot Shots, 4-Paws, Silver Sage 4-H Community Club (SSCC), 4-H Sewing Project, and the Target Rippers.

4Paws 4H dog club is hosting Part 2 of Deputy Officer Jimmy Surratt of the Carson City Sheriff's Department Canine Unit and his K-9, Ary, at its next meeting, Thursday, Sept. 19, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Fuji Park's Exhibit Hall.

He and Ary, a Belgian Malinois, will be demonstrating police training moves utlizing another officer in a bite suit. Then, Officer Surratt will have a brief question and answer period. Children age 5-19 are welcome to attend with their families. Contact the 4-H Extension Office at 887-2252 for further questions.

4Paws 4H dog club is hosting a guest speaker, Officer Jimmy Sherratt of the Carson City Sheriff's Department Canine Unit at its next meeting, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Fuji Park's Exhibit Hall. The meeting is open to children age 5-19 and their families. After a demonstration and presentation by Officer Sherratt and his canine companion, he will have a brief question and answer period.
