The Father-Daughter Day & Dance, Feb. 28, 2015, features a “day on the Comstock” which includes a flower for daughters, old-time photo portraits, lunch for two, a hot cocoa or coffee and tickets to the Father-Daughter Dance at Piper’s Opera House.

Swing into 2015 with West Coast Swing lessons

High Sierra Swing Dance Club (HSSDC) is presenting a six week beginner West Coast Swing (WCS) dance class on Wednesdays beginning Jan. 28 through Feb. 25, 2015. HSSCD will have a free beginners lesson starting at 6:30 p.m. and free night of dance for new west coasters.

The event’s theme combines the formality of old-time nostalgia with a light-hearted science fiction twist, and includes high-energy dance music by Nevada’s own Rock-N-Roll Rebels, a no-host bar (for those 21+), sweet treats, and costume contest with prizes. Don't stress if you're having trouble coming up with Steampunk costume: consider dressing Victorian, western, or in the costume of your choosing.
