Nevada Day Steampunk Ball Friday welcomes Nevada birthday revelers
Here it is and here is where all Nevada Day revelers local and coming in from all points of the Silver State ought to be Halloween night. The first ever Nevada Day Steampunk Ball, a costume fundraiser for ages 18-plus, is at the Carson Nugget Ballroom Friday from 7 p.m to midnight.
Don't stress if you don't have a Steampunk costume: consider dressing Victorian, western, or in the costume of your choosing. The event’s theme combines the formality of old-time nostalgia with a light-hearted science fiction twist, and includes high-energy dance music by Nevada’s own Rock-N-Roll Rebels, a no-host bar (for those 21+), sweet treats, and costume contest with prizes.
Tickets are $25 per person, on sale online here or at the Nevada Day Store at 108 W. Telegraph St., Carson City, open 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday thru Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
Tickets purchased online can be picked up at the Nevada Day Office or from Will Call at the Carson Nugget on Friday night.
Parade day is Saturday and kicks off with an 8 a.m. hot air balloon launch on Carson Street near the Carson Mall (weather permitting).
At 10 a.m. a flyover of military craft signals the start of the parade. The parade begins at the intersection of William and Carson Streets, concluding around 1 pm to 2 pm at the intersection of Stewart and Carson streets.
