Virginia City offers a day of dance on the town for fathers and daughters

Virginia City, Nev. is offering dads the opportunity to make their daughters feel like a Victorian-era princesses with a special day in the historic town. The Father-Daughter Day & Dance, Feb. 28, 2015, features a “day on the Comstock” which includes a flower for daughters, old-time photo portraits, lunch for two, a hot cocoa or coffee and tickets to the Father-Daughter Dance at Piper’s Opera House.
“This is an opportunity for dads to spend time with their daughters in a setting that feels like you’re stepping back in time,” Deny Dotson, tourism director for the Virginia City Tourism Commission, said. “For little girls and dads alike, this is going to be a day they’ll always remember.”
The Father-Daughter Day package provides dads with everything they need to give their daughter a full day of special treatment. The package includes a flower from Virginia City Flower Shop, lunch for two at either The Palace Restaurant, The Roasting House or Red Dog Saloon, an old-time portrait at either Priscilla Pennyworth’s or Garters & Bloomers, hot cocoa or coffee from The Roasting House, fudge from Grandma’s Fudge and two tickets to the Father-Daughter Dance at Piper’s Opera House.
The Father-Daughter Dance begins at 3 p.m. at Piper’s Opera House. Tickets are available online now starting at $15 for children’s tickets and $25 for adults.
