Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of holiday events around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights, the 24th annual Parade of Lights in Gardnerville, the annual Project Empty Bowls dinner held at the Carson Mall, a Holiday Crawl in downtown Carson City and much more! With a weekend of Christmas holiday events across the Carson City region, it looks like Mother Nature will be active with valley rain beginning late Friday and feet of snow in the Sierra through Sunday.

For the Grownups: Holiday Crawl Saturday in downtown Carson City to benefit Holiday with a Hero

Dayton Urgent Care is hosting its annual Angel Tree for the kids in the Dayton, Nev. community. Last year was a great year for these families and kids that needed a little help.

Carson City area weather: Snow ahead, motorists urged to get early Thanksgiving travel start

The first significant snow-driven storms of the season remain on track to impact western Nevada and Sierra midday Tuesday through Wednesday, coinciding with one of the busiest travel periods of the year. Motorists are advised that if they can do it, they should finish travel over the Sierra by Tuesday morning to avoid long delays and highway travel headaches.

Carson City sheriff's deputies make battery, drug-related arrests

A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 12:15 p.m. in the 3200 block of E. Nye Lane for suspicion of misdemeanor battery, a sheriff's deputy report states.

According to the report, deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of East Nye Lane in reference to a disturbance. A female called the sheriff's office asking for a deputy and then the phone disconnected.

Carson City deputies arrest multiple suspects in unrelated burglary crimes

A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 3000 block of Thurman Circle early Thursday morning on nine counts including felony possession of stolen property, ex-felon in possession of a firearm, and six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, two other people were arrested in connection with this incident for obstruction after allegedly telling deputies the man wasn’t at home.

SET deputies arrest four in connection with felony drug crimes from local inn

A 20-year-old Carson City woman, a 33-year-old Carson City man, a 27-year-old Carson City man, and a 33-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the 200 block of W. Caroline for several drug-related felonies.

Special Enforcement Team deputies arrested the Sarina Welch, Graften James Dodge, Trevor Hammond, and Ronald Nigra after SET received several tips, information and complaints regarding drug use and sales at a room in a downtown Carson City Inn.
