Carson City deputies arrest multiple suspects in unrelated burglary crimes

A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 3000 block of Thurman Circle early Thursday morning on nine counts including felony possession of stolen property, ex-felon in possession of a firearm, and six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, two other people were arrested in connection with this incident for obstruction after allegedly telling deputies the man wasn’t at home.

Ryan Williams was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the residence on report of a stolen dirt bike. Someone called the victim and told them their stolen dirt bike was seen resting against a residence on Thurman Circle. The victim advised the dirt bike was stolen by Williams who was attempting to sell it.

Deputies also received information that Williams is an ex-felon who had firearms and burglary tools in his possession and was allegedly at the residence currently.

Deputies arrived on scene and knocked on the front door. An unknown subject came to the window next to the front door before disappearing, and deputies heard multiple voices yelling throughout the residence.

After approximately one minute, the report states, a woman emerged from the residence and asked what deputies wanted. Deputies asked the woman if Williams was home, and she said no. She told deputies Williams was her boyfriend and she believed he was in California. Deputies asked if she lived at the residence and she said no, and that she would go get someone who lived at the house before shutting the door.

After approximately two minutes passed, a man emerged from the residence and again asked deputies what they wanted. Deputies asked if Williams was home and he said no, his brother wasn’t home. Deputies asked the man if he knew anything about a stolen dirt bike and he said no. Deputies asked if they could search the backyard of the residence, and the man said not unless they had a warrant.

One deputy advised they would stay in the front of the residence while another looked into the backyard from the street to see if they could see the dirt bike. The deputy walked one residence south and observed a driveway with a slightly ajar, waste high gate leading to the backyard, which was adjacent to the residence under investigation.

From the adjacent property, the deputy observed a dirt bike resting against the back of the residence that matched the description of the stolen dirt bike.

While the deputy was in their patrol car writing a search warrant, they observed Williams attempting to climb the south fence of the residence. The deputy told Williams to freeze and drew their weapon. Williams complied and was detained.

On his person deputies located a methamphetamine pipe in his front left pocket.

Dispatch advised Williams also had a warrant out of East Fork Justice Court for a misdemeanor traffic offense.

At that point, a family member of Williams arrived on scene and stated they were the homeowner of the property. They said that Williams lived in the residence and had a bedroom in the south east corner of the house. They said the did not keep any firearms in the residence because of Williams, and agreed to allow deputies to search the residence.

Inside the bedroom deputies located a Remington Rifle in a corner of the bedroom, one methamphetamine pipe behind the TV, two broken methamphetamine pipes in a cup on a shelf above the bed, two 9mm handgun rounds in front of the TV, approximately 30 shotgun shells in front of and below the TV and one empty Springfield handgun hard case. Deputies also located “two pipe shaped objects commonly used to snort controlled substances.”

He was taken into custody on the charges, along with his brother and girlfriend for obstructing.
