Silver City, Nevada - On Sunday, March 19th at 2pm, Danish journalist Peter Krogh Andersen will offer a talk at the Silver City School House (385 High Street) with a slide show from his trips, followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Silver City, Nevada - The Resident Artist Program in Silver City is happy to announce that in March we’ll have a visit from journalist Peter Krogh Andersen of Denmark. This is Peter’s 4th time crossing the U.S. Last year, he traveled across the U.S. interviewing people about the Presidential election, American health care, and other issues and publishing a number of features based on the interviews (find those articles in the Danish newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad and on his own site, A Dane Passed By.)

The historic building that houses a liquor store and other businesses in South Lake Tahoe sustained significant damage after a heavy snow load contributed to the collapse of the structure's roof early Monday morning.

Perry and Starr Nixdorf, along with their staff, celebrated three years in business Saturday at Paradise Salon and Wellness Spa, 3430 Executive Pointe Way in Carson City, with a community wellness fair and blood drive.

On Jan. 11, Gov. Brian Sandoval will present Linda Haigh, founder of Northern Nevada Dental Health Programs’ Adopt a Vet Dental Program, with the Veteran Supporter of the Month Award. As I contemplate the topic of this week’s Animal Files Column, I struggle. The reason is because the story that I am going to share is based off secondhand information. I don’t know whether it’s true or false. The ethical part of me doesn’t want to put misinformation out there. The other part of me knows that this story is spreading like wildfire on social media and that people are already forming their own opinions.
