Medical office to occupy old Sizzler building on North Carson Street
A building once occupied by Sizzler restaurant is currently being remodeled to accommodate an optometry practice, said Jeremy Kunter of construction contractor Shaheen Beauchamp.
"The old Sizzler building will be medical offices for The See Center with leasing options for additional medical practices," he said.
The property is owned by Janet and Luke Drakulich, Kunter said, optometrists who own The See Center practice, currently located in the Eagle Medical Center building at 2874 N. Carson Street.
Kunter said remodel work on the nearly 5,000 square-foot building will continue through the winter. He said the contractor is hopeful to be finished around the first of April.
Built in 1979, the old Sizzler building is located at 3033 N. Carson Street, on the east side of the Highway 395 business district and at the corner of West Nye Lane.
Sizzler closed the doors to its Carson City restaurant in early 2009 following a sharp downturn in the economy.
