Carson City student to refresh 'C' on C-Hill as part of Eagle Scout, senior projects
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 08/29/2019 - 1:39pmCARSON CITY — Gabe Crossman, a 17-year-old senior at Carson High School and member of Troop 45, will be refreshing the “C" on C-Hill for his Eagle Scout and senior class projects Saturday, September 7, at 7 a.m. Seniors from the Class of 2019 moved the rocks to form “TJ3" in memory of their classmate Timmy Jones.

In fact, counselors, teachers, and other administrators stood at each of the school entrances welcoming students to the best high school in the state, hyperbole aside.

Lockes Celebrate 50 years

Peggy also serves as Staff Chaplain for Carson Tahoe Health in Carson City. The Lockes took a ‘land and sea’ cruise of Alaska in July and continue to celebrate their special event by camping and being together with their family. Louis and Peggy have 4 sons, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

For summer’s most visible meteor showers, join the Carson City Parks, Rec and Open Space Department at Western Nevada College’s Jack C. Davis Observatory for some late night, educational fun. No pre-registration necessary. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring water for night hiking from the Observatory. Head lamps and flashlights are allowed. Parking at the Observatory can be found at 2699 Vanpatten Ave, Carson City. Please call (775) 281-7711 with any questions. This upcoming Monday is the Aquariids Viewing Party starting at 12:00 a.m. Tuesday (technically Monday night).

Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Receives Generous Donation from Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church

A generous donation in the amount of $3,147.25 was presented on July 24, which will join funds already raised for the vehicle purchase.
