Annual Carson City Feast of Chocolate re-imagined due to COVID, scholarship donors sought

Our goal is to continue to provide scholarships for deserving young women in their pursuit of educational advancement.

Several fundraisers, including the annual “Share Your Christmas” Food Drive will be available throughout the Carson City, Minden and Reno areas on Friday. You can visit the North Pole safely as part of a drive-thru Santa's Village experience at V&T Railway in Carson City, beginning Friday into the weekend. A living nativity scene will be featured at First United Methodist Church on Saturday and Sunday. Combined with train rides in Virginia City, the state capital will be buzzing with excitement. Forest Service to begin pile burning on Carson and Bridgeport Ranger Districts

V&T Railway holds casting call for upcoming 2020 Santa’s Drive-Thru Village

The railway is looking for energetic performers to portray elves, chefs, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer in addition to individuals to help direct traffic throughout the event.
Sierra Lutheran High School to host Nov. 7 Christmas craft fair, vendors can sign up now

The school will be strategically using outdoor and indoor space on its 34-acre campus to promote the kickoff to the Christmas shopping season within social distancing guidelines.
Carson City Polar Express 2020 aboard V&T train canceled, replaced with Drive-Thru Village

In its place, V&T Railway will host Santa’s Drive-Thru Village, a socially distanced holiday event, Dec. 11-13 and Dec. 18-24.

The Class of 2020-2021, while practicing social distancing and wearing the latest fashion in face masks, gathered together at 6:00 a.m. Sept. 4 on the bleachers of the CHS football field to watch their sun rise.

Plus there's a yoga class, Salsa dancing at Yaple's Ballroom, country and pop dancing at Carson Lanes, a safety workshop for women and more.

Dozens of sweets are in store for Saturday. The American Association of University Women holds its 20th annual Feast of Chocolate at the Carson Plaza and Event Center. Artsy Fartsy Gallery hosts its 9th annual Jewelry and Chocolate Show with several new decorative pieces. To cap-off Saturday, the legendary Cab Calloway Orchestra makes its way to the capital city.

From Feb. 12 through Feb. 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visit inside the mall and make a Valentine for a loved one. Then, make another Valentine for a Senior that will be delivered to local retirement homes.
On Feb. 15 Carson Mall will host Family Bingo Night. Proceeds will benefit Carson High School’s Safe and Sober Grad Night.
