Thursday, Sept. 21: Things to do in Carson City
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Thu, 09/21/2017 - 7:48amMy daily list of activities might be called ‘things to do in Carson City,’ but I frequently include happenings from the surrounding valleys. Today, it’s the Thirsty Third Thursday wine walk in downtown Gardnerville that gets the spotlight. Dayton’s weekly Farmers Market can be found this afternoon in front of ‘Community Roots’ on Highway 50. It’s probably past patio weather, but there is plenty of room inside of Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar for all of tonight’s karaoke lovers.
THURSDAY:
Farmers Insurance-Daniel McCraw
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 09/20/2017 - 4:35pmFlood Insurance is one of those things you might not think about- until you're knee deep in muddy water in your living room. At that point, it's too late. You're left with moldy furniture, ruined flooring, and probably a big replacement cost. You're not alone though. 87% of homeowners don't have a flood insurance policy.
Misconception #1: You don't need flood insurance unless you live in a flood-prone area. Not true. Your property may be at risk. Heavy rainfall, melting snow and floods happen more often and in more parts of the country than you think.
