Please join our year-long Diabetes Prevention Program beginning on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Carson Tahoe Health & Wellness Institute located at 1470 Medical Parkway, Suite 250; Carson City, NV from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. This program consists of 16 weekly sessions plus 6 monthly sessions. Enrollment fee is $40, each session is $10 and payment plans are available. Learn about healthy eating, increasing physical activity, and setting and achieving goals. Groups are led by a Lifestyle Coach who facilitates the discussion and helps you find personal solutions.

Una Irene Gast passed away February 27th in her home in Carson City. She was born on April 6th, 1922 in Caribou Maine. She spent the first part of her life in Maine and New England. Una moved to Chicago and Detroit and worked for the auto industry.

Kick up your heels to the musical talent of Don and Nadine and enjoy light refreshments. Admission is $5.00 per person sold at the door. All ages welcome. Our goal is to host dances every other month and we hope to have a large audience to encourage frequent dances.

WNC Certified Nursing Assistant Program Offers Open House March 4

Visitors will learn about training and employment opportunities for CNAs. The Open House will be in the Cedar Building, Rm. 100-Marlette Hall on the Carson City campus, 2201 W. College Parkway.

Event participants will tour the college’s nursing labs, learn about entrance requirements and hear from guest speakers such as local employers and both previous and current CNA students.

Spinouts, crashes and power outages reported during morning Carson City commute

UPDATE 11:15AM: Carson City is experiencing minor, localized flooding, according to the city's Facebook page. Sandbags are available at Public Works Corporate Yard on Butti Way. Call 887-2355 if you need more information. As of 11:15 there were 14 NV Energy outages in Carson City with 253 customers without power. Douglas County has 16 outages with 165 customers without power. There is one outage in Lyon County with one customer without power.
