17th Annual Turkey Round-Up Tuesday at Mike’s Pharmacy

The annual event, now in its 17th year, collects frozen turkeys to fill Salvation Army holiday food baskets for Carson City area families in need. The owners of the pharmacy at 1007 N Curry St, announced the pharmacy would be closing after the annual Round Up.

This event is event is for local groups to propose collaborative efforts between our organizations as a coalition to contribute to everyone's success.

BLM firewood permits available at multiple locations

Pinyon pine and Utah Juniper permits are $10 a cord. People may purchase up to ten cords before a commercial firewood cutting permit is required. Only dead trees — standing or down — may be cut.

Carson City Kiwanis golf tournament, run and bench press to support cancer awareness
Submitted by editor on Sat, 09/05/2015 - 12:57amRobey Willis, founder of the Carson City Kiwanis Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day, urged participants to sign up early for this year’s golf tournament and other events.
“The golf tournament completely sold out last year,” he said. “It would be prudent for people to get in while they can.”
The second annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day will feature a 5K walk/run, bench press competition and golf tournament, on Sept. 19 at Empire Ranch Golf Course. Willis said last year’s event was a success.
“We had a wonderful time,” he said. “It was just a ball.”

The first band in the series will be Mo’z Motley Blues Band who entertained during Taste of Downtown. They have a strong local following due to their versatility and infectious stage performance.

Events will be held in Carson City and Yerington in October and services include dental, vision and medical. Carson St. Carson City NV 89706 on the side parking lot by Valley Realty. On September 12th from 10am to 3pm. There will be a 50 / 50 raffle. The registration is $20 dollars and this is a free event for spectators.
Trophies include top 15, and special picks. There will be a BBQ for FREE provided by Yogurt Beach , bounce house and some amazing activities for the kids. Most definitely will wanna bring the kids. Registration starting at 10 am and ending at 1pm with trophies at 3pm.
Vintage aircraft at Carson City Airport Sunday to mark end of WWII

Cactus Air Force Wings and Wheels Museum will have several pieces of vintage aircraft at the airport. The community is invited to this free event to mark the 70th anniversary of the end to World War II. Among the aircraft is a WWII era TBM avenger fly as well as plenty of other planes and vehicles from both WWII as well as Vietnam.

Paul Ogata brings his comedy to the Carson Nugget

Paul's material flows from his Japanese-American upbringing and his recent marital foibles. Paul funnels all of his material through an animated and quick delivery to give the audience a non-stop roller coaster ride through his stream of consciousness. A master of improvisation, Paul likes to make each show different from the rest.
