The Carson City Charter Review Committee is seeking public input for possible amendments to the Carson City Charter.
The City Charter is available to view on the City's website at www.carson.org/crc and click on the Carson City Charter link. Comments and suggestions can be submitted in writing to the Charter Review Committee, c/o City Manager's Office, 201 N. For more information about the Charter Review Committee, please go to the City’s website at www.carson.org/crc or contact Janet Busse at jbusse@carson.org or (775) 283-7124.
The Charter Review Committee advises the Board of Supervisors regarding their proposals for all necessary amendments to the Carson City Charter.
The committee assists the Board of Supervisors in getting these recommendations to the Legislative Counsel Bureau in a timely fashion so that the changes can be properly analyzed by the state legislature.
If the Board elects not to submit the Committee’s recommended amendments to the Legislature as one of the City’s legislative measures, the Committee may vote to authorize a member of the Committee to seek sponsorship of a legislative measure by a member of Senate or Assembly delegation representing the residents of the City to assist the Senator, Assemblyman or Assemblywoman, as applicable, in the timely preparation of such amendments for presentation to the Legislature.
The member of the Committee shall not represent that any such legislative measure is approved or supported by the Board and shall disclose that the legislative measure is not approved or supported the Board.
